We Are Hiring Childcare Workers (Early Childhood Development Centres)

The DoCCFS are seeking applications to the post of full-time Childcare Workers in our Early Childhood Development Centres at Mosney Accommodation Centre, Laytown, County Meath/ Tír na nÓg ECDS Cameron Hall, Cameron St. (off Cork St.), Dublin 8/


The Daughters of Charity Child and Family Service (DoCCFS) is a not-for-profit public service organisation. We provide a range of therapeutic supportive services to children and families, based in the greater Dublin region. The Service works in collaboration with TUSLA Child and Family Agency local areas in Dublin North and North City, East and Dublin Mid Leinster.


Our Services include an Early Childhood Development Service (ECDS), Family Centre Service, Dublin Safer Families Service and Assessment Services.


Key Responsibilities:


Child Development and Care: Ensure the day-to-day care, education, and development of children attending the ECDS. Provide for the individual and collective needs of the children in a caring and structured environment.


Safety and Hygiene: Maintain the highest standards of care, safety, and hygiene for the children, ensuring equipment and play areas are safe and clean.


Program Implementation: Participate in planning, developing, and implementing educational programs that align with Aistear and Siolta standards. Experience with High Scope is a distinct advantage.


Supervision and Support: Supervise mealtimes, support children in developing independent skills (e.g., dressing, personal hygiene), and oversee the work of students, trainee staff, and volunteers.


Child Protection: Adhere to the DoCCFS Child Protection policy and report any concerns to the Centre Manager.


Collaboration: Liaise with professionals such as Social Workers, Speech Therapists, and Public Health Nurses. Participate in regular review meetings and professional supervision.


Parental Engagement: Maintain regular communication with parents, providing updates on their child's progress and participating in scheduled meetings.


Record-Keeping: Accurately maintain records, including observations and reports on children's development and behavior.


Health and Safety: Administer basic first aid when necessary and ensure adherence to all policies regarding health, welfare, and safety.


Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on current trends in childcare and participate in training programs, workshops, and performance appraisals.


Qualifications and Skills:


• FETAC Level 6, 7, or 8 childcare qualification is required.


• Experience in delivering education to Aistear and Siolta standards; High Scope experience is advantageous.


• Proficiency in file-keeping software (e.g., Salesforce) and mechanisms to evaluate outcomes is a plus.


• Strong interpersonal skills, commitment to confidentiality, and the ability to maintain positive working relationships.
